Customer Reviews

UPDATE: B&Q social media team replied, saying basically they didn't meet their own standards. Please reconsider visiting again. No offer to honour the original sale, so clearly this dept are as useless as the customer services and delivery departments. Original Post: Avoid, avoid, avoid. I used to be a big fan of B&Q, especially their sales. This year I ordered a Keter outdoor storage unit. It was a good price on sale for Black Friday. Reduced to €153 from €219. I knew it wouldn't fit in my car so I ordered it for home delivery. There were loads in stock for home delivery (from a Dublin depot store). I paid on November 27th. After I paid I got an email to say it would be at least 8 days for delivery. Not great but I was willing to wait. Then I got an email later the same day to say the item would be delivered Monday 8th December. Again not great, but I was happy to wait as I appreciate it's a crazy time of year with deliveries. Then 10 days after ordering ..on Sunday 7th December at 11.40pm (20 minutes before delivery date), I got emailed a cancellation receipt. I was confused. I hadn't cancelled the item. Then I checked my bank account to see I had been refunded the money before they even emailed me. No reason was given for the cancellation. On Monday I rang the customer services number (which is outsourced to a call center on South Africa). Just an FYI..they can do nothing. They don't seem to know anything about the products sold etc. All they do is ring the depot store in Dublin, the depot store doesn't answer them either. The customer service agent said the order was cancelled because they ran out of stock. I said I'd paid for one while in stock, so for all intents and purposes, they sold the item I had already paid for, to someone else, left me waiting 10+ days and then refunded me without an explanation or phone call. The customer services also gave me a further number to ring in Dublin, I think the actual depot, fyi they don't answer at all, no matter what time of day you call, I've tried all options! I asked if I could go get one at click and collect in Galway instead. I was told I would have to place a new order and pay 219€ not €153. They wouldn't honour the sale price. I really feel scammed and I will not be giving B and. Q any further custom, even though I have been such a regular customer since they opened in Galway in 2007. So my advice to future shoppers..avoid, avoid, avoid.
Worst hardware store experience of my life. Waited 4 hours for some insulation boards to be brought out from the warehouse. Loads of stuff out of stock / not on shelves, and not matching the stock quantity listed on the website. Extremely understaffed and very difficult to find anyone to help. Feel sorry for the few staff members who are here as they are fighting a losing battle and mostly trying their best. Store manager needs to seriously get their act together!
I called to follow up on an order that was placed in person at the Galway store. The lady on the phone hung up, saying it's not their responsibility and directed me to the Liffly Valley store. I tried calling the Liffly Valley store, but they didn't answer the phone at all.
Phoned about an undelivered order, a week on from delivery date. Woman on the telephone asked what was the order, when she was told the order she replied "That's Liffey Valley" and hung up! What magnificent customer service!
