1 Star – Dangerous Stair Carpet Installation We recently had a stair carpet supplied and fitted and experienced a serious safety issue. Within days, our young daughter suffered a deep cut after walking barefoot downstairs. On inspection, the carpet gripper / tack strip spikes were protruding through the stair carpet on every step. The nails were invisible but razor sharp. It took repeated contact to have this addressed, and even after a return visit more sharp spikes were found. The carpet ultimately had to be replaced. If you are getting a new stair carpet installed, check carefully for exposed grippers or nails. This was a very concerning experience.

I went into this place to get the house done 3 bed rooms sitting room hall stairs and landing in carpet and Lino for the 2 bathrooms And the guys in here sorted me out and organised the carpet fitter He arrived 2 days after I payed and did the job the house looked amazing The fitter very professional stayed until job was done Des Kelly’s highly recommend

Des Kelly Swords had a huge range of options and Ciaran was brilliant to deal with in store guiding on what would work best and arranging the fit. Ruben and his team did an amazing job on the wooden floors and Marcus did a fantastic job on the carpet. Really impressed.

Ive been into Des Kelly Swords twice over the last few weeks, dealt with Kieran both times. We ordered flooring for our new house, we couldn't afford to changing all the floors once, hence the second visit. The selection of flooring is great, prices for all budgets! The lads in the shop are great, advice, a quote, a stock check, no hassle. Our 1st order was ordered on a Friday and fitted Saturday. We couldn't believe our luck! Our fitter did a fantastic job, we requested him to come back to fit our second order. Couldn't recommend Des Kelly's more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My partner and I ordered flooring and fitting from the Swords branch which was carried out in October. The flooring was for our new kitchen which is currently being fitted. A few days after the flooring was laid, our builder came in to fit the rest of the kitchen which he found to be out of alignment as most of the units had been moved by Des Kelly team when laying the floor. This resulted in all of the kitchen measurements being incorrect and the units needing to be moved back to the correct position. The sink was also moved to an angle and has been leaking due to twisted pipes. The flooring was cut so close to the units that this took considerable extra labour which has incurred a cost to us, the timeline for the kitchen completion has been delayed and we have been left frustrated and anxious to have the issue resolved. The builder had to lift the units and cut up a spare flooring plank and move each until which looks terrible and means that the legs of the cabinets are not on the floor as they should be. Additionally to this, the company due to fit the worktop were unable to measure after arriving as the measurements were incorrect due to the cabinets being moved. This has further delayed our fitting. Not only this, but we already made a complaint in the Swords branch when returning spare materials for a refund. The workers who carried out the work were rude, argumentative and gave a poor finish on the job. We had to stand over them pointing out various snags and we ended up cleaning the mess they made to the new flooring ourselves. The customer service and complaints team were unhelpful and proceeded to do nothing about the error caused by their incompetent workers. The fact that there was such a huge issue with the flooring has had a domino effect of errors for the kitchen refit. Very poor service all round and would NOT recommend.
