MG painting and decorating services

Same as what others are saying. Stay away from this company. I also gave €100 deposit trusting in the Facebook reviews. Seems he blocks anyone who says anything he doesn't like. He seemed like a nice guy in the beginning. Didn't show up 3 times. Didn't return the deposit with one excuse after the other. Scammer. Fake address listed. Not 10 years registered in business as he claims.

I was looking at getting paint work done and was scammed by these . Paid a deposit of €50 and was asked to send another €50 for supplies which I did trusting it as they were on duleek noticeboard. The morning arrives and he is asking for more money to pay a lad that works for him. I refused and he asked for less money but I still refused as it was more than agreed. He said the lad that was going to do it won’t now as I wasn’t paying what he asked. They then said they’ll be down later and never showed up. Messaged about being ignored and my money back but surprise, surprise I was ignored. Rang them and a woman answered the phone. Be warned to not use them here they’re Facebook account.

Would prefer to give zero stars. They painted the outside walls of my house getting more paint on the paving slabs. Painted one room missing spots and again getting more paint on the hardwood floors, they even managed to get paint all over the stairs and landing carpets! Took us a week to clear up the mess. Absolute cowboys.

Warning: Beware of This Painter Mickey Gavin (MG Painting and Decorating Service) Scam! Just wanted to share my recent experience so others don't fall into the same trap. I hired this guy who initially quoted a reasonable price and took a deposit to start the job. After taking the deposit, he suddenly demanded more money—far beyond what we originally agreed on. When I refused and confirmed that I no longer needed his services, he has since refused to return my deposit.

A scam artist avoid! Do not let these people in your house they will start asking for money up front for materials lunch each day money for more supplies etc. unfortunately somebody very trusting and vulnerable had paid them for the job when it was about half way done and low and behold they never came back to finish and never got money back! They have done this on multiple people.
